Best Overall Travel Credit Card for 2019: Free Travel!

Best Travel Credit Card Rewards 2018 So far I have racked up over $1,500 in the first year with my current travel credit card.

After doing SO much research on which travel credit card I should get, I decided on the Chase Sapphire Preferred. Here’s why:

  • SIGN UP BONUS: Chase always has a sign up bonus of 50,000 ultimate rewards points that you get if you spend $4,000 in three months. Thats about $625 in travel credit (Think of all the places you could go!!). You also get an additional 5,000 reward points for adding an authorized user.

If you need help meeting the minimum spending requirements, ask your friends or family to make a big purchase on it and have them give you cash. I have not tested this theory, but I have also heard of people using venmo or cash app to send a friend money and having them send it back (I can’t vouch for this, do some research).

NO FOREIGN TRANSACTION FEES- Wooohoo!

EARN POINTS:

  • 2 Points for dining & travel
  • 1 point for everything else
  • Reward points are worth 1.25 when redeemed for travel
  • Points can be used with many of the leading airline and hotel partners (the chase rewards portal is extremely easy to use to book travel with)

  • INTRO FEE WAIVED FIRST YEAR- After that it is a 95$ annual fee, This fee is not much once you factor in all of your benefits.

  • BONUS HACK: You can use the Chase Freedom Card in combination. The Chase freedom card gives you 5% back in rotating categories. You can then transfer these points to your Chase Sapphire card to use for travel. In summary, if you use your Chase Freedom card for the rotating categories and then your sapphire for everything else, you are maximizing your travel benefits!
